Almost 2 months after having ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) surgery I cramped up really bad (or so I thought) in my thigh on the same leg. It was and then hard and tight. I went to my physiotherapist thinking it was tight muscles from non stretching. They massaged, iced and gave me a stem handling which did relieve the tightness but not pain. Long story short, 2 weeks later got ultrasound which showed deep vein thrombosis, clots from knee to groin area on the inner right thigh. It was a sharp pain going up my leg, with lots of swelling.

I had a pulmonary embolism with no leg symptoms three years agone. Last calendar week, I idea I'd pulled a muscle, then my calf started to swell. I have a deep vein thrombosis and was started on Xarelto starter pack for 30 days. The pain is in the back of my knee joint and travels upward the back of my thigh and sometimes down to my foot. It's definitely worse with exertion. I read somewhere that's it's probably less well-nigh the jell (the hurting) and more well-nigh the poor blood flow in that vein.

My surgeon saw it and sent me immediately over to go scanned only on the left dogie and nowhere else. Turns out I have a clot there, I'thousand thinking I have deep vein thrombosis in the other leg in the calf and in the thigh. I never recovered from the hip surgery so I have been laid up in my bed for these v years, not all the time, just most of the time I would honestly say.

I experienced swelling in my leg, a very heavy feeling and extreme hurting that seemed to movement up the back of my leg every few days until the day I was hospitalized for deep vein thrombosis (DVT). I stood up from my desk, and the excruciating hurting I had backside my knee shot to my groin, my leg instantly went stark white, and the new hurting was similar the worst toothache ever times one meg. And so my leg chop-chop swelled from hip to toe. My first DVT was at 24 years of historic period. I spent 19 days in the infirmary. About two weeks subsequently my discharge, my physician's office chosen and asked that I come in right abroad. His diagnosis was that I had a very rare blood clotting disorder. Substantially, I am the opposite of a hemophiliac, that is, a gratuitous bleeder. My claret, through genetics, is the consistency of pancake syrup. I was told I could never again get pregnant. I was told I would have to take Coumadin and habiliment custom compression stockings for the rest of my life. That was 24 years ago. Today, I am 48 years old, and I have had vi clots (all in the same leg) and 2 pulmonary embolisms. My final two clots were merely months apart. The aggregate damage has damaged my femoral and keen saphenous vein valves leaving me with chronic deep venous insufficiency and venous hypertension. I was forced to retire under these circumstances. Now, I employ a lymphedema pump to recirculate the blood in my leg to be re-oxygenated. I am in abiding pain and various stages of swelling. The but practice I get is in the pool. I have recently discovered that a new non-silicone prosthetic vein valve is going through animal testing, and man trials should exist coming upwards in the next year or two. I take already signed up. If replacing my broken valves does non work, I will have my left leg amputated almost mid-thigh. This is the only way to restore my quality of life.

The principal symptom of a blood clot, for me, is that it will experience as if the leg with a clot has run a marathon, fifty-fifty afterward walking just a brusque distance, while the other leg feels fine. I've never experienced whatsoever of the other archetype symptoms, such as redness or hurting in the area of the jell.

My experience with deep vein thrombosis began with a pes and ankle injury. My talocrural joint, my pes and the bottom half of my leg swelled every day. My toes went majestic, my human foot went ice common cold, numb and had a burning awareness. Cramping in my leg and a constant deep pain was also present. I was on T3s which helped a little, but the side furnishings like having a trouble going to the bathroom was a big result. A gentle overnight Ex-Lax solved that problem. Later on it was discovered, and I'grand talking three weeks, that I had a huge clot in the main avenue in the groin of my right leg. I am now on warfarin for the next six months to forbid any more clots forming. If y'all have problems walking long distances with cramping, burning and pain in your legs, I urge yous to seek medical assistance. Chances are you have a jell or decreased circulation to your legs. Clots can break free if untreated, travel to your lungs or eye and kill you. Don't neglect or dismiss the alert signs. Your body is trying to tell you something is not right.

I was three days in ICU. I had 2 days of catheterization to dissolve and remove the DVT (deep vein thrombosis). I'grand now attending Coumadin clinic once a month and recovering nicely.

I saw a medico then was sent dwelling house, saying they couldn't find anything even though my leg was more 2 inches larger than the other. I went back to the cardiologist the next day. He was shocked at the size of my leg and sent me to a vascular medico whom I did not encounter until two days afterwards. They establish a deep vein thrombosis in my groin surface area immediately. They put me in the hospital for 5 days on IV heparin, followed by six months on Coumadin. I have had another angioplasty since then, and this time I didn't have a blood clot. Thank God!

In one case upon a time, I was going to school like normal as ever, and all all of a sudden I started having problems walking, breathing, etc. This was in a large time span of about a week, and it got to the point where we went to the emergency room. Later on X-rays and ultrasounds, the medico came in and said "we found DVTs in his legs, and we are flying him to Johns Hopkins". I said, "I don't take time for this, I am only xiii years old this can't be happening!" I have spent my Easter as well as a good ii months in the hospital as they were trying to put me on warfarin. This is caused because I have factor V leiden, and an absent IVC. Is information technology possible to consume more protein C and S with factor 5? I wonder, once more I am simply xiii years old and this is only for like lx yr olds. I understand how rare this is, near impossible.

I experienced leg pain and swelling around my left genu which I ignored for several days. I than experienced groin pain and my foot became very cold. And along with the swelling I had tenderness and redness of the leg. this was all in a matter of 1 week. I panicked went direct to ER and was examined by two doctor's, had a doppler done on the leg, 2 clots were found, ane in the groin area and one smaller ane behind my knee, I was and then immediately hooked up to IV heperin and was told I was not likewise become out of bed for the fright of the moving. I clot was found in the groin surface area and considering of the large size of it, it had actually blocked a valve in the groin area that resulted in the the blockage of flow of blood thru my leg. they adamant that the smaller clot backside my knee had broken from the larger one that was in the groin surface area. I spent almost 2 weeks laid up in the hospital with an Iv blood thinner. I had to be scanned/x rayed from caput to toe before I could be released from hospital. This was v years ago, I still depend on compression stockings to help with swelling and discomfort of the leg and I also take a low dose of aspirin daily.

I am a 50-year-old woman and have had 4 episodes of deep vein thrombosis. The showtime one occurred after my third childbirth. Each time the site is my correct leg, probably damaged during the get-go jell. At that place is no known factor identified, and I take been on warfarin therapy since the third episode. The start iii episodes were accompanied past the usual swelling, estrus, discoloration of the leg before I was diagnosed with DVT. But this last fourth dimension, the clot was caught very early on, before the vein was blocked completely. I have noticed that I know something is wrong with apportionment in my leg way earlier these more obvious symptoms begin. These include a feeling of tiredness in the leg, especially when beginning do, but and then feeling ameliorate as do increases the apportionment. The veins in my human foot and ankle stand up out more than. There is a mild but constant internal ache in the leg and an odd "plugged" feeling. Sometimes the vein actually feels irritated to me, and mayhap more total to the bear on. My affected leg is always slightly larger, and slightly a different color than the other, due to poorer circulation, but the color begins to change subtly darker, and information technology too feels colder than the other foot when this problem is beginning. My right foot will frequently feel tingly when I first stand on it in the morning, in spite of exercising human foot and ankle before getting up. I sometimes take a difficult time convincing my physician that I can experience when things are happening within the vein, but with feel, I am clearer and clearer that I can. He sent me for an ultrasound of my leg this fourth dimension, fifty-fifty though he said he did non doubtable a jell. The ultrasound showed a "spider web" or strings of clot just offset to form. My hospital time and rehab has been much quicker.

At night information technology feels like my bed is rippling at the bottom left side to right side or information technology feels like something is walking beyond the bottom of my bed. When it first happened I idea maybe my modest dog had passed. Was walking on my bed sometimes is stronger than others. It wakes me up and I can notwithstanding experience it when I'thousand awake. When I had my varicose veins done, I tried to talk to the doctor only he acted like I am nuts. This is driving me nuts.

My left leg was swollen for near two years and several doctors - ii orthopedic and iii MDs - told me it was "fluid" and only one suggested any remedy and that was Dyazide. I had knee surgery last winter in FL and a total knee replacement on the left leg in August 2009 in MI. Six weeks of therapy and I could barely elevator my left leg off the floor and I struggled to go upwards and out of a chair. I thought it just took more fourth dimension for a total recovery. In November my regular MD was out of the office at the fourth dimension of my routine lab piece of work and then I saw an acquaintance. She immediately noticed my swollen leg and sent me to imaging for a Doppler. I went from at that place to the hospital with four DVT'S in the groin area. Very extensive every bit my doctor said. Why did no other physician advise a Doppler? I never surmised claret clots when I had terrible "charley horses" in the back of my leg, the swelling, or the warmth. I think we take to be our own physician!! Thank God that my regular md was gone and I had one who ordered the Doppler. I am now on Coumadin for 6 months and can lift my leg "knee loftier", and go out of a chair with no trouble!

I would like to warn people out there of the danger of DVT. I lost my husband eleven years ago, considering a physician told my hubby, he had a spot of pneumonia in his left lung and to take information technology easy for a couple of days. On his way to the dr., he stopped at Walmart to go cough syrup, and passed out in the store. He was rushed to the emergency room and DIED within ane hour. He was merely 43 years old at the time. Later on the autopsy, a claret jell was plant to have broken loose from his left leg and that was the SPOT the doctor had seen two days before.

When I was having problems with DVT, I felt equally if I had a very deep cramp in the dorsum of my left leg that was only helped by having wet heat applied. The hurting returned as soon equally I started to walk again.

I had surgery on my right foot. I had to visit my doctor once per week after that, and I had to wear an orthopedic boot and crutches. Two weeks later, my doctor suggested to let go of the crutches, and I did, I started walking only with my boot, and the twenty-four hour period before my third visit to the doctor, equally I went to go out of bed in the morning time, I put on my boot and as I step on my human foot to start walking, I felt this sharp pain shooting from my heel upward to the back of my knee. It really injure, simply I thought it was just sore considering I just started walking without my crutches, so I went ahead and managed to become out of bed and start walking - with my crutches once again, to ease the pain. When I saw my doctor the next day, I mentioned this to him and he checked my leg. It wasn't even swollen; it was just sore, from my heel to the dorsum of my knee. The doctor saw the possibility of a clot and sent me right away to the emergency room to have an ultrasound, which concluded up revealing a blood clot on my leg.

For me, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) manifested itself as pain on the within of the leg, simply below the knee. The hurting also travels upward, something like halfway up the thigh. There is also very uncomfortable throbbing at times.

I awoke in the centre of the night with blinding pain in my left hip which radiated downwardly my leg. When I got out of bed to go to the restroom, the muscles in my calf contracted then hard that I could not extend my leg out in front of me to walk and almost brutal down. The hurting was excruciating! Existence a healthy person, I assumed information technology was some sort of temporary fluke thing and would subside by morning. Simply, upon enkindling, my entire leg from hip to toe had blown upwards more than 5 times its normal size. Still thinking it was a fluke, I elevated it and waited for the swelling to go downward. Luckily, my mother visited and insisted I get to the doc. The beginning doctor did not bear on me at all - diagnosed information technology as DVT - and sent me on to the emergency room.

I had astringent leg hurting, and my foot went numb. I did not have pain in the area where the clot was found. I went to the ER considering I knew something was wrong, simply never thought blood clot!

I have arthritis in my joints. One mean solar day my right human knee started pain really badly backside the articulatio genus and I thought it was just my knee acting up because of the change in the weather. And so I went and spent near $60.00 on patches, and braces for my knee. In spite of all my efforts to become some relief, it seemed to go worse, as days went past it eventually got to where I couldn't walk on it at all. That was when I decided to go to the dr.. They drew my blood and said that some of my levels were high. So then they did a Doppler ultrasound of my whole correct leg and found that all three main veins in my leg were clotted. Then they did a CT browse of my lungs and found that I had both lungs with embolisms in them. They had me transferred to a larger hospital to an intensive care unit (ICU). I was at that place for two days and then they establish out that my insurance wouldn't encompass a infirmary stay and I was sent home non knowing if I was going to be OK or not. Now I have to requite myself shots everyday and pray for the best. That is my personal feel with my DVT AND PULMINARY EMBOLISMS.

I had surgery on my ankle. Afterward surgery I had a severe trample 3" above the incision that wrapped around the dogie musculus. When I came out of surgery the ankle didn't hurt - information technology was my calf muscle that was extremely painful - it was and so bad that they gave me a block for the pain. The pain subsided. Almost two weeks later, I had recurring severe pain in my calf when I would use my crutches (notwithstanding was non bearing weight on that leg). My foot would plough pink/purple when it was not elevated (they said that was 'normal'). I started concrete therapy and the pain increased so I actually idea the pain was due to 'over doing it' in physical therapy (it was like a bad muscle cramp that would come and go). Other than that, I HAD NO OTHER 'USUAL' or 'COMMON' SYMPTOMS. A friend of mine told me to not take chances so I called my surgeon and suggested that this pain was quite severe for a muscle cramp.....after the scans, they discovered that I had 1 clot at the base of operations of my calf and one jell behind the knee. I was hospitalized and am undergoing treatment at home. Practise NOT Look - if you have the slightest of symptoms, get tested TODAY. I was told that well-nigh people do non take the "usual" or "common" symptoms. I was also told that this was uncommon for my age and activity level.... don't take 'no' for an answer. I thought it was a simple leg cramp and was proven wrong. I'm glad I had information technology checked out and caught it when I did.

I'grand 25 and have had DVT in both legs the symptoms were massive swelling to the leg more often than not below the articulatio genus, my leg nifty and so much the peel started to flake and was very brittle requiring lots of ointment to keep it from splitting. Around the same time the swelling started I was met with very intense hurting from deep inside my leg that even the strongest painkillers failed to take an effect. I am not exaggerating when I say information technology's the nearly painful feel in my life. I've cleaved my wrist and forearm, toothache and migraines don't come shut and it took well-nigh 6 weeks of Fragmin injections so onto oral anticoagulants before it started to get better. And so 9 months later it all started in the other leg. I was in hospital for two weeks as the swelling was so severe.

I am 23 years old, my case is rare considering my offset blood clot was at 18 years old. I felt tingling and swelling in my leg for a couple of days I didn't know what it was until when I was curt of jiff. I panicked and went to the ER. There was a clot in my leg and it traveled to my lungs they hooked me up to heparin for ii weeks in the infirmary until my PTT levels were dorsum to normal. When I became significant in 2008 I was placed on Lovenox for that pregnancy and zilch thereafter. My latest episode landed me in the hospital this calendar week. I felt pain in the same leg that the blood clot was in originally and when I got to the infirmary surely there was a clot. I just stayed for one day and I am now released on Lovenox for the rest of my life.

I woke upwardly with a very hard, warm, swollen dogie but no pain. I went to work, then to a family unit physician afterwards four-5 hours working, which is my normal day as I am semi- retired. So my doctor sent me to get a sonogram on my leg and was found to have a large deep blood clot, for which they immediately admitted me for 4 days, using Heparin, then Warfarin and was sent home and could do whatsoever I felt similar doing. It's now 7 months later and I still have an improved clot and I am still on warfarin, and I am still working besides. An IVC filter is probably adjacent in a few days to keep whatsoever jell from going to my lungs or heart. Promise this helps someone.

I pulled my calf muscle playing basketball. I went to the ER, had an x-ray. I was told no broken bones and to continue activities every bit normal. 2 weeks afterwards I had the same hurting, difficulty walking and sleeping. My family physician told me to elevate and residuum. I decided to go back to the ER and am glad I did because I had a claret clot. They immediately started me on medication to thin the blood. I am glad I did not ignore my instincts.
